Jazushi Sushi Restaurant Review

This wonderful sushi restaurant is found in the quaint town of Jacksonville, Oregon. The founders and owners of the restaurant moved from Australia where they had pioneered the same concept very successfully.

They had roots in southern Oregon so they decided to return to those roots and try the concept here. Well, it works, and you can see that from both the decor and the ambience ofthe restaurant.

The owners are, in fact, the ones who introduced me to sushi. I had never tried it prior to visiting their establishment, which is a modern blend of art and food.

When you enter the restaurant you are greeted with a delightful treat to the ears: Live Jazz music.

The master chef and co-founder of the restaurant himself comes out from behind the counter, picks up the jazz trumpet and trombone and regales the restaurant goers with smooth and delightful sounds that make the atmosphere very inviting.

This is a great place for first timers. The staff are attentive and know how different types of sushi work for different palates and they will explain it thoroughly to you. In the end you will leave with a happy ear, and a happy stomach, after having sampled everything from the California roll to the Caterpillar roll (served delightfully like a caterpillar).

Of course, for those who are not partial to sushi, they also have a most delectable homemade teriyaki sauce, perhaps the best I have ever tasted, so that you can enjoy yourself there anyway.
