Easy to make seaweed salad

This seaweed salad is really easy to make and tasty too!

Visitors to my site often ask where they can purchase wakame seaweed. If you can't find it I suggest you purchase a package of Fueru Wakame Dried Seaweed online. Its inexpensive and will last you for quite a long time.

I first tasted this salad at one of those all-you-can-eat sushi joints in my hometown.

Sometimes it is rolled in toasted nori or served alone in a small bowl.

Like my addiction to sushi, I just couldn't get enough of this stuff. That's why I decided to learn how to make it at home. It's really easy! Just follow the recipe below.

Ingredients

  • 3/8 oz dried dried wakame
  • 3 tablespoons light soy sauce

  • 3 tablespoons rice vinegar (without seasoning)

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil

  • 2 scallions, thinly sliced

  • 1 teaspoon finely grated ginger

  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

Preparation

Soak dried wakame in warm water for about 5-8 minutes

Drain and place in a bowl of water. Quickly remove and plunge into cold water

Mix vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and ginger in a bowl until sugar is dissolved.

Mix wakame and dressing.

Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and scallions

Chill in fridge prior to serving

Tip - Instead of wakame try using chewy strips of konbu if you prefer a more intense flavour. If you liked this recipe try this one for wakame and cucumber :
